Our New Album “Coming up for Air”
We are excited to announce the release of our latest album “Coming Up for Air”. We’ve had such a good time recording it and working with new musical collaborators on the journey – we’d like to thank Becky Moult for backing vocals, Lee for cajon percussion, Alan Dublon for his ‘tasty’ bass guitar and to Jez from Skyline Studios for producing and mastering the album and also software percussion & instruments.
We’d also like to specially thank Paulina Vassileva who has designed the artwork for this Album to reflect our title theme ‘Coming up for Air’.
Paulina is a well established Fantasy Graphics Artist and we’re very lucky she threw herself into visualising our Album – her work is available to view and buy at her website.
We’re very pleased with how it’s turned out, and now we’d like to share it with a wider audience – we hope you enjoy it – please let us know what you think.
If you like it enough to want to buy it, we promise that at least half of the sale price will be donated to charity, and we expect the CD to be available from mid March 2025 🙂

The recording process we went through for this album took longer than we anticipated, but having finally completed the ‘project’ we’re very pleased with the result – you can listen to all the tracks on the audio link of this website – and you can decide if you want the physical copy of want the album.
So if there are any musicians who still haven’t got round to taking that step to getting into the recording studio, then our advice is that it’s never too late to get the ball rolling – but a word of caution … you might enjoy the creative process so much you won’t want to stop! We’re now planning our next album as well as our next ‘Songbook’ !

“Winterwood”
In Spring 2022 when we launched our 2nd album “Winterwood” the whole world was coming out of lockdown. Some songs reflect on the very strange world we all were experiencing back then … I guess as songwriters we call on all experiences when writing music and lyrics … but mostly the songs on the album as always are a mix of new songs and old songs revisited from over the years.

We’re two West London based singers/songwriters, known as Nightshades, who believe that there’s still a place for songs combining strong melodies and memorable lyrics – if we can communicate that in under four minutes then that’s a result for us and the audience! We both write, sing and play guitar and keyboards but we’re not so good at describing our kind of music , so you’ll just have to listen and decide for yourself. Judging by some of the reactions we get at gigs people do seem to like what we do.
Having been writing and playing together for some time now we’re returning to live performance and recording with a new ‘unplugged’ repertoire, with guest musicians stepping in from time to time. We’ve always collaborated with other musicians on our albums and looking to continue doing the same ongoing.

Most of all, we hope that you’ll enjoy what you hear and that we’ll get to meet at a gig near you sometime!

We are big fans of open mic venues – the opportunity for any musician to turn up, play in front of an audience, listen to other musicians and share a common love of music in all its forms.
We live in West London and some of our favourite venues are:

236 Hanworth Road, Hounslow, TW3 3TU 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month from 7p.m.
